Travelling the world entails spending long periods at the airport. This experience can be pleasant or nightmarish depending on how efficiently the airport is run. Today catering to an influx of travellers from around the world most airports are geared to welcome the weary traveller with all the leisure amenities and comforts of a home.
The coveted Skytrax Awards clearly define the best. So whether it’s a cheap flight or first class luxury you choose your airport experience promises to be the finest at one of the following destinations.

1. Singapore-Changi Airport

Winner for the fourth time Changi Airport served over 50 million passengers in 2012. Changi was awarded the coveted title of Best Airport in Asia and Best Airport for Leisure Amenities.

2. South Korea-Incheon International Airport Seoul

Catering to South Koreas busy influx of travellers Incheon Airport won second place, as well as the 2013 awards for Best Airport Staff Service-Asia and Best International Transfer Airport.

This airport commenced in 2008 and won fifth place in both 2012 and 2013. Voted Chinas Best Airport, Beijing Capital International has seen a steady influx of passengers.

6. Germany-Munich Airport

One of the best airports to enjoy a gourmet hot meal Munich Airport coming in 6th place also bagged awards for Best Airport in Central Europe and of course Best Airport Dining Experience.

7. Switzerland Zurich Airport

An airport that promises the safe transfer of your luggage. Coming in seventh Zurich Airport also won Best Airport Staff Service-Europe award. Guaranteeing you a convenient and comfortable airport experience.

8. Canada-Vancouver International Airport, British Columbia

Moving up from ninth place in 2012, Vancouver International Airport is the only delegate for North American airports in the listing for world’s best airports, naturally it was the winner of Best North American Airport.

9. Japan Tokyo International Airport

Moving up five places to be ranked 9th best airport, Tokyo International Airport is a newcomer to the Skytrax Awards. Best Airport Terminal Cleanliness was another well-deserved award it took home.

10. England-London Heathrow Airport

If love the duty free experience then London Heathrow Airport is the place. Coming in 9th the airport bagged the Skytrax awards for Best Airport Shopping and Best Terminal.

Qantas tops the Safest Airline List – Announced by AirlineRatings.com

The world’s only safety and product rating website, “AirlineRatings.com” has recently announced the Top Ten Safest Airlines of the 448 airlines it monitors for 2013. Qantas has topped the list with its amazing fatality free record since 1951. The Airline has maintained an outstanding record of topping in all safety as well as operations for over 90 years. Qantas made it to the top ten with seven stars for both safety and in-flight product alongside with Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, CathayPacific Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Eva Air, Royal Jordanian, SingaporeAirlines and Virgin Atlantic.

The AirlineRatings.com’s rating system analyses the safety of the airlines, taking into consideration numerous different and vital factors of aviation governing bodies and lead associations’ audits, government audits as well as each airline’s fatality record.

Qantas has a 93-year history in the aviation industry and is named the world’s most experienced airline by several organisations. In addition, the airline has a long list of almost 30 notable industry leading achievements. Qantas is still renowned for offering the world’s longest air route by elapsed time – Perth to Colombo (Sri Lanka).
